Curious by nature, I wanted to know what flowers would grow and dry well in our Dunedin climate. What began as a backyard experiment soon became a creative obsession. The garden expanded, the drying shed filled up, and before long Long Time Blooms was born.

Where gardening meets art-making

With a background in Fine Arts, I'm drawn to colour, form, texture, and composition. My work is guided as much by the principles of art-making as it is by the seasons themselves, resulting in arrangements that feel distinctive, expressive, and a little unexpected

 

Underlying it all is a desire to tread lightly

Flowers are grown and dried naturally, floral sprays are avoided, and wherever possible I choose compostable, second-hand, or vintage materials. My work is guided as much by intuition as it is by tradition—often embracing the character and individuality of each harvest rather than following floral trends.
